The Riser Chair Studio – Terms and Conditions
The following terms and conditions apply to all transactions with Riser Chair Studio. The use of this site indicates your acceptance of these terms and conditions. The placement of an order indicates your acceptance of these terms and conditions. Please read them carefully and print a copy for future reference.
These terms and conditions do not affect your statutory rights. To order goods, you must be at least 18 years of age. We will treat each order for goods as an offer by you to purchase the goods subject to these terms and conditions.
We will endeavour to deliver goods within the times stated but goods are subject to availability and delay in delivery of goods is sometimes outside our control. Any dates we specify for the delivery of the goods are approximate only and we shall not be liable for any losses, costs, damages, charges, or expenses caused by any delay for delivery of the goods.
Our free delivery service will consist of delivery and set-up of the ordered item. This will be carried out by a specialist delivery service who will bring the item into your home, place it in the room of choice, unwrap it, set up and remove packaging.
Delivery for stocked items will be approx 5-14 working days and in many cases can be sooner than this. For Zero VAT rated items delivery will be within 7-14 days after the return of the completed VAT exemption form.
Items being made to order will take approximately 5-8 weeks for delivery (this can be sooner and for some Riser Chairs delivery can be 3-4 weeks).As soon as we have delivered the goods to your door you will be responsible for them. Goods will not be left without a signature. From the time of receipted delivery of the goods, any loss or damage to the goods shall be at your own risk.
Non-Deliveries: We will not accept liability for goods lost in transit unless we are notified within 10 days from the expected delivery date

To avoid delivery delays, ensure somebody is available to sign for the order.
Check the number of packages delivered matches the number on the delivery receipt. Do not sign for packages you have not received. If there is a difference in the number of packages, make a note on the delivery receipt or electronic POD device and notify us IN WRITING (email).
BEFORE signing, check the outer packaging for damage. If outer packaging is too damaged to accept, you can refuse the delivery. If outer packaging is slightly damaged, but you believe the contents will be undamaged, please write "Outer Packaging Damaged. Contents Not Checked" on the delivery document or electronic POD device before signing. Then as soon as possible, check the contents and notify us of any damages IN WRITING (email) within 24hrs. Failure to do so will invalidate any claim for delivery damage.
Payment and Price
The total price payable for the goods will be debited from your account at the time you place your order. We reserve the right to make adjustments to the price to take account of any increase in our supplier's prices, or the imposition of any taxes or duties, or if due to an error or omission the price published for the goods is wrong whether or not the order has been confirmed. We will inform you of the correct price and give you the opportunity to proceed with your order at that price or cancel the order with a full refund.
As a general rule, value added tax, or VAT, is paid on every item that is purchased within the UK. Some of the products we supply may be purchased exclusive of VAT. Qualifying products include aids designed or modified solely for use by people with a disability. To be eligible for this reduced price, the intended user of the product must be medically disabled, or suffer from a long-term illness. Customers do not have to be registered disabled to claim relief but they will have to declare how they qualify, on the VAT declaration form - Arthritis, Parkinson’s Disease, MS etc. Once an order has been placed with us we will send you a VAT exemption form. The form is a simple declaration and does not need a doctor's signature or certificate. Please note that we cannot sell products at a VAT free rate without receiving a VAT exemption form.
Cancellation and Refunds
Under the Consumer Contacts Regulations you have a statutory right to cancel your order up to 14 working days after receiving the goods.
If you wish to cancel your order and the goods have already been delivered you will need to inform us in writing (email is acceptable - firstname.lastname@example.org). We will contact you to give you details of where to return the item.
You must take reasonable care of the goods whilst in your possession and return the item(s) to us unused, in the original packaging and in an unused and saleable condition within 14 working days of receipt. Please note that any charges for installation will not be refunded if the installation has been carried out. The buyer will be responsible for the return costs of the cancelled item(s). Please note that we cannot accept cancellation of Bespoke and Made to Order items once the order has been placed with us.
If your item has not been already been delivered you must inform us in writing and your cancellation will be processed. Please allow up to 30 days for your cancellation and refund to be completed. Refunds will be issued to the original credit/debit card used or otherwise by cheque. We will inform you either by email or letter that we have refunded you.
Please note that the Consumer Contracts Regulations do not apply to made to order/bespoke items and we cannot accept cancellation once the order has been placed with us.
Availability of Goods
All products and services are subject to availability and may be withdrawn at any time. If we do not supply the goods for any reason we will not charge you for these and we will refund any money already paid for them.
All products supplied are, unless otherwise stated, covered by the terms and conditions of the Manufacturer's Guarantee for a period of 12 months. This Guarantee does not cover accidental or malicious damage and damage caused by improper use of the equipment. This does not affect your statutory rights.
