Where are the best deals when buying Riser Chairs
First: Remember, British quality riser chairs are made mostly by small independent factories and are available to all retailers.
So those claiming that their chairs are “exclusive to us” and “direct to you from the factory”, can be ignored. Most retailers have most of the chairs. So forget the "exclusive" label.
If an outlet has only one or two designs available they can be crossed off.
For them Riser Chairs are just an “add on line”. Their main business is elsewhere.
For quality and expertise: You need a specialist!
So where do you go?
There are 3 groups of outlets:
1. High street shops.
2. Home demonstrators
3. Online Retail
High Street Shops
Advantage: You can see and try the Riser Chairs.
Many general furniture or “mobility” shops, are not specialists and may lack the detailed knowledge you need.
Their costs can be high. They have to pay shop rents, business rates, utilities and many other overheads. Including staff salaries and commissions. Not to forget the TV and press advertising.
All this lifts the prices.
Sometimes the shop will come out and show you the Riser Chair in your house as well, after having spent time with you in their store.
This of course makes you feel you are wasting their time, if you do not buy straight away. Don't feel guilty, that special offer will always be around next week. While the offer discount is quite respectable, it is certainly NOT the best deal in town!
They will tell you that theirs are the lowest prices for high quality risers anywhere. Not true! Even with the special offers, their costs mean they simply cannot compete. Theirs can be as much as twice the online price, for the same chairs.
Tell them you will think about it!
Question: Do you want to pay for their high costs/overheads? Thought not!
