Your Chair - How it Works
There are many designs and qualities of Riser Recliner chair. They also come in many price ranges. It is a bit of a minefield, so you need to proceed with care.
Firstly perhaps, it is best to avoid the chairs that try to be all things to everyone They tend to end up being not quite right for anybody. When you are considering a riser recliner chair, a choice of fabric and design is straight forward. What goes on inside is just as important as the comfort and design of the upholstery.
Outside the only thing visible is the simple control. When the buttons are pressed, the chair operates smoothly but it may be interesting to know what is actually happening underneath.
The power is provided by electric motors, geared so as to move the chair gently and smoothly. These are attached to the chassis which in turn converts their revolving action into the lateral movement needed to lift and recline the chair.
The Studio Riser Chairs can have 3 different types of mechanism. They are the "Tilt in Space", "Wallhugger" and the "Dual System". Between them they cover all the requirements for assistance and comfort. All include the riser feature which stands the user up.
The Wallhugger is specially designed to operate in a restricted space and can be placed just 4" from a rear wall. As the chair is reclined, it eases forward to allow a comfortable 45% position without touching the wall. Like the other motor systems it allows you to stop the chair in any position.
With the "Dual Motor System" the seat and back move completely independently. This allows the user to make adjustments to ease your position and maintain maximum comfort, without changing the overall position of the chair. It also reclines almost flat. And of course is can be stopped in any position.
The "Tilt in Space" is a revolutionary design, where the back and chair seat move in unison, ensuring the two parts of the chair maintain the same relative position. As the chair moves, the user is gently tilted and weight is gradually transferred to the back cushion. The legs are also raised, into a position which assists circulation. The chair can be moved to upright sitting and to any position in between, in comfort.
All the chairs in the Studio Collection can be fitted with any of these actions that best suit your requirements.
